Don’t assume ENSURE: Unveiling a secret to effective training!
I've got another gem of a story to share with you all—a tale of training, tactics, and the power of getting it just right. You know, I'm passionate about what I do because my "why" is to share real-life scenarios with you every week, helping us all grow and learn together.
So, picture this: I'm in a meeting with a group of fabulous therapists, and the topic of training comes up. The head therapist mentions their plan to test the team on their knowledge of spa treatments—a solid idea, right? But then, a little voice inside me pipes up: "Why the need for testing?" I ask. "Don't they already know the treatments inside and out?" The head therapist's response was an eye-opener.
It turns out, while the team might have a grasp on the treatments themselves, they struggle with describing them or effectively selling them to guests. And that's when it hit me: it's not just about what we teach, but how we teach it.
No amount of written tests will ever teach our teams how to engage with guests or confidently discuss treatments—unless we're using the right methods. It's about more than just checking boxes; it's about ensuring our training methods align with our goals and deliver the results we're after.
So here's the million-dollar question: are our training methods getting us where we want to be? Are we focusing on role-plays, interactive sessions, and real-life scenarios to give our teams the skills they need to shine?
Because at the end of the day, effective training isn't just about ticking boxes—it's about transforming your team into a powerhouse of talent and expertise.
I've got one more secret weapon tip to share today. If you want to get the best results out of your role-play training, record the role-plays and play them back to the team before you correct and adjust. You won't believe how effective this is at enhancing learning! Try it out and let me know how it goes for you.
Here's to training that packs a punch and gets us closer to our goals!
Until next week, beauties!
